KATE WARTELS
4s Teacher
FCCNS holds a special place in my heart as my younger daughter graduated from the Pre-K class many years ago! The rich curriculum and dedicated teachers left a lasting impact - I am thrilled to have the opportunity to return to FCCNS, this time as a teacher in the 4’s.
I earned a masters from Bank Street College in Special & General Education. During that time I gained experience in special education at the Windward School and The Gateway School. My experience in general education settings includes St. Bernard’s School, The Episcopal School, Convent of the Sacred Heart and most recently, Five Mile River Nursery School in Rowayton. My B.A. is from Kenyon College, where I majored in art history.
I have lived in Darien since 2007, where my husband and I have raised our two daughters who attend Middlesex and Darien High School. I enjoy spending time with my crew at home and on the water, and staying active through running, tennis and yoga. I believe every moment of the day presents an opportunity for learning and development
and look forward to a fun and fulfilling school year!
