FCCNS NEWS
Check out what's happening at First Congregational Church Nursery School!
OUR PLAYGROUND IS COMPLETE
With the continued generosity of the FCCNS community, the final phase of our playground renovation was completed over the summer. A beautiful new fence, memorial garden, donor signage and bricks were added to the courtyard. In addition, our garden area was transformed into a versatile outdoor classroom space which will be enjoyed for years to come.
1,000 lb Food Challenge
In conjunction with the First Congregational Church, FCCNS children collected 1,000 lbs of non-perishable items for the Open Door Shelter and Pantry in Norwalk. This service project brings our community together and gives children the chance to learn about giving to those in need.
NEW 2s PLAYGROUND
Thanks to the generous support of the FCCNS community our new 2s playground was completed this summer. Renovations of the big playground will take place over the holiday break.
3-5yo Playground Completion
Thanks to the generosity of the FCCNS community, phase two of our playground renovation was completed over the holiday break. Although the children enjoyed watching the construction, nothing can compare to the excitement they have to finally play in our newly constructed playground.
END OF YEAR CELEBRATION
On Thursday, May 20th, our amazing staff got together to celebrate the end of the school year. And this photo was just too good not to share! We raise a glass to you ladies -- thank you for all that you do for FCCNS.
SUMMER CAMP
The kids blasted into summer with our four day Summer Fun program. In addition to crafts and playground water fun, they stretched, bounced, sang and ate ice cream!
IN MEMORY OF JANIS ATHA
In loving memory of their colleague and friend, FCCNS teachers planted a tree for Janis Atha. There is a certain kind of teacher who stands above the rest, who always gives her best. Janis was this teacher and she was an inspiration to all who worked with her at FCCNS. She will be missed by the entire community she helped to build.
MESSY ART SHOW
Beloved Messy Art teacher, Mrs. Lane, turned The Rainbow Room into a professional art gallery at this year's Messy Art Show. Proud students shared their artwork with their families.
HOLIDAY FUN
Santa Clause is coming to town! Students were delighted to read, ask questions and put in last minute toy requests in this special visit at FCCNS.
